Athletic Therapists are trained to recognize and manage acute traumatic injuries; such as strains, sprains, fractures, concussions, environmental illness and much more.
They provide emergency care when required and prepare individuals for entry into the healthcare system via emergency transport and/or follow up care with other healthcare professionals.
Trained to prevent or minimize the risk of injury using strategies and techniques such as taping and strapping, mobility exercise, soft tissues release, education, conditioning programs and equipment selection.
On the sidelines or in the clinic, Athletic Therapists have the knowledge and skill set to evaluate injuries.
They can determine the type and severity of injuries using established best practices.
The purpose of rehab and re-conditioning is to help individuals reach their pre-injury lifestyle.
This is achieved using manual and movement therapies, modalities, and targeted exercises program, usually within a clinical rehabilitation setting.
